Expert Overview

As a psychiatric nurse for 8 years, I thought that I was helping people heal from depression, anxiety, and stress by giving them medications. While some patients did benefit from psychiatric medications as the primary modality of treatment, most patients rarely had a decrease in their symptoms. Even worse, most of them felt MORE depressed, anxious, or suicidal while on medication.

I realized that the medications I gave my patients for depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety didn’t seem to help… in fact, they caused more harm than good (e.g. weight gain, dyskinesia, worsening depression). I had a strong gut feeling that there HAD to be a better way to help them.

That is when I decided to leave my hospital nursing job. I was on a mission to help people heal emotionally and mentally, without relying on medications as the primary treatment. While I was on my own emotional healing journey going through imposter system, anxiety, depression, and grief, this led me to life coaching, as well as mindfulness through meditation and an ancient Chinese mind-body practice called Qigong (pronounced "chee-gong").

Now, I help people everywhere relieve their stress, turn their fear into courage, and transform anxiety into confidence through holistic mindfulness practices like meditation, Qigong, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

Work with Me

I like to call Qigong a form of "Chinese yoga" or "Chinese moving meditation." It is an incredible combination of breathing techniques, gentle movement, meditation, and self-applied massage that will help you relieve stress and feel more energized, focused, and grounded.
