Ep #131: Weight Loss and Overeating Tools Part 2
In episode 129, the first part of the Weight Loss and Overeating Tools, we talked about the basic concepts laid out in my in my book, If I’m So Smart, Why Can’t I Lose Weight, as well some of the updates and improvements I’ve made over the years.
If you haven’t listened to it yet, go back and check before jumping into this episode.
Today, in the second part of this 2-part series, we talk about the next level of the tools that many of my clients have used successfully to lose (and keep off) dozens of pounds.
Tune in as I explain the role our hormones play in our ability to lose weight and how sugar and flour affect them. I also cover how dopamine and neurotransmitters affect our desire for food and what we can do in order to get that desire under control, as well as many other concepts that I will be covering in our Stop Overeating Free Training.
If you’re someone who would like to take control of their weight or a coach who would like to help their clients do the same, you won’t want to miss this episode or our watching our Stop Overeating Free Training.

Ep #129: Weight Loss and Overeating Tools Part 1
In today’s age of convenience, many of us have become so detached from our bodies that we have no idea when we’re hungry and no idea when we’re full.
We eat when we’re happy, we eat when we’re sad, or we eat simply because we feel like it.
Those habits, of course, causes many of us to gain weight, and in order to lose weight we try a diet after diet that without much luck long term.
So how do we stop this madness and weigh exactly how much we want permanently?
In this two-part series on weight loss and overeating tools, I will share the tools I used to increase my awareness and lose over 70 pounds, as well as the tools I use every day to stay at my desired weight. I’ve taught these tools to many of my clients, and today I’m sharing them with you.
In the first part of our this series, I’m talking about some of the main tools laid out in my book, If I’m So Smart, Why Can’t I Lose Weight?, as well some of the updates and improvements I’ve made to them over the years. So turn up the volume, grab a pen and some paper and listen in!
And make sure you tune in to the second part of this series for some of the advanced tools that I have recently developed after doing extensive research into the brain and hormones.
Also, in you want to understand the concepts behind losing weight permanently or you are a coach who wants to learn tools for your clients who are struggling with their weight, or a coach who is struggling with your own weight and want to help your clients as well, sign up for our Stop Overeating Free Training.

I help female entrepreneurs lose weight permanently
You’re not overweight because you don’t have enough willpower or motivation. You’re also not overweight because you don’t know enough about diets and working out.
You’re overweight because you regularly eat more than your body requires. Now. Your brain might kick up a bit of fuss at that statement, but only because you think it’s bad news.
This statement is very good news because you get to narrow your weight-loss focus. You can stop wasting time and energy looking for the perfect diet and exercise plan. You can get to the real root of the weight: WHY you’re overeating.
Once you understand the root cause of overeating, you can fix it. This is 100% possible for you. I know because I’ve done it.
I dieted for 27 years with zero lasting results. When I understood why I was overeating and figured out how to stop, I lost 25 pounds. That was 7 years ago.
Since then I’ve taught women what the diet industry cannot teach us: how to overcome overeating so that they lose weight permanently.
Imagine how much easier it will be to lose weight when you:
- No longer struggle with overeating
- Stop starting over on Monday
- Quit trying to solve the problem with another diet
I will teach you how to overcome overeating and coach you to your goal weight.
Andrea Bussard
With over 18 years in a customer facing service role, I’ve learned it’s a reactionary profession where we’re made to soak in judgments and opinions of others constantly. Growing up with my dad as a motivational speaker, this work has changed my life, and I’m looking to change yours by continuing his legacy. I teach my clients to ditch the anxiety and overwhelm so they can feel better at work today. I help restaurant industry leaders stop overdrinking and overeating, without sacrificing the relationship with themselves and others.
Ep #462: Giving Two Weeks Notice with Amy Porterfield
Do you have a secret dream of becoming an entrepreneur?
What’s stopping you?
Maybe you don’t think you have the time to start something new. Or maybe you don’t think your idea is good enough.
Whatever the reason, you aren’t living into your potential, and my guest this week is the person to show you how to change that.
Amy Porterfield is one of my heroes. She was one of the first women entrepreneurs I witnessed talking about her numbers publicly and in doing so, she showed me what was possible.
She joins me to share about her amazing new book, Two Weeks Notice, and discuss why so many women keep their entrepreneurial dreams to themselves instead of stepping into their full potential.
Learn how to overcome the excuses you’re currently giving for not taking action, how Amy’s book will give you the step-by-step runway for taking the leap into entrepreneurship, and why you already have everything you need to start.

Is this you?
- You have the degree, but you doubt and question yourself all the time. You wonder when you’ll ever start feeling confident.
- You can start feeling confident now.
- Outwardly, you’re successful but inwardly you’re still beating yourself up for a mistake you made. When does that little voice ever go away? Doesn’t time heal all wounds?
- What if the little voice was still there, but it no longer bothered you
- If time healed all wounds, you probably wouldn’t even be reading this, would you?
- You want to live a healthier life to improve wellness, stop overdrinking, or stop overeating. You know to eat more vegetables, but after a sleeve of Girl Scout cookies, or a night of drinking more than you planned (again), you’re not too sure a carrot is going to even this all out. What is happening?
- We got you! You’re in the right spot.
- You want to a little “tune up” and are interesting in improving your growth-mindset. You’ve heard that buzz word being tossed around the office along with “nested”, “game changer”, or “the new normal”.
- What is a growth-mindset anyway?
- Yaas. Let’s teach you. This isn’t a buzz word, it’s a whole life word. We’ll get you squared away!
Let’s change what isn’t working for you.
Now. Permanently.
Are you ready to do the work to live the life you imagined? Let’s get started today!

Ep #458: Self Discipline with Monica Levi
If you’re like most people, you might think self discipline is the same as willpower. That it is restrictive, non-sponteneous, and boring.
You have the intention of working out every day, of not procrastinating, of showing up consistently.
Then you let momentary discomfort guide your decisions and blame this on a lack of willpower.
But my guest this week knows that isn’t true.
Monica Levi is a master of self discipline. As a lawyer turned life coach, she helps her clients develop the identity of being self diciplined through mindset management and self love.
She believes that self discipline is the bridge between your goals and your results, and she’s here to tell you why.
Tune in this week to hear from the master of self discipline herself, Monica Levi, about why you might be lacking self discipline and how to change that. Learn why self discipline is so closely linked to self love, the freedom that having self discipline brings, and how to master this skill yourself.

Ep #452: Why We Eat Too Much
Why do you overeat?
Maybe you’re bored and like to eat for entertainment. Maybe you use eating as a distraction from negative emotions and stress.
Maybe you just really enjoy eating so you do it for pleasure.
Whatever your reason for overeating is, it’s also preventing you from stepping into the next version of you.
To break this habit, you need to understand why you’re overeating and solve from there.
In this episode, find out what happens to your mind and body when you overeat and how to finally break free from this habit once and for all.

Ep #447: How to Handle Adversity
Life is 50/50. Although you can’t control what kind of adversity you face, you can bet that you will face some.
Maya Angelou said, “You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated.”
So, how do you handle adversity without feeling defeated?
Handling adversity is something I covered in a recent webinar and if you missed it, you get to hear it today on the podcast.
Tune in this week to learn how to not only handle adversity but how to also use adversity to your own benefit. I share three secrets to overcoming adversity and some of the pitfalls to look out for in this process.

Ep #442: Power Sentences
You might not realize this, but there is one sentence running your life right now.
This one sentence is hidden, subconscious, and it is responsible for the results you are creating.
“I’m not good enough.”
“I can’t lose weight.”
“I won’t be successful.”
These are powerful sentences, but you don’t have to keep them.
In this episode, I share how to find the sentence running your life and how to change it to something that gets you the results you want. I reveal a new event coming up that will teach you how to do this more in-depth, and show you how to pick a new sentence with intention.
Life Coach Live is a 3-day virtual event coming up in November 2022. You’ll get access to the cutting edge of all our latest work on life coaching and power sentences, and access to a new retreat we’re offering called Work Hard, Play Hard. To learn more and claim your seat, click here.

Ep #441: Dopamine, Desire, and Decisions
Where do you get your dopamine from?
For most of us, the answer ranges from food and alcohol to work accomplishments and working out.
Your brain naturally seeks rewards, and that’s a wonderful thing. But it can also be hindering your results when you seek it unintentionally from some of these places.
You get to decide where you seek rewards from and what you have desire for.
In this episode, I show you how to intentionally decide what to desire. It is completely within your power to choose to get dopamine from one activity over another, so why not choose the activity that brings you closer to the life you want? This week, I break it down so you can do just that.
Ep #440: They Laughed at Me
17 years ago, the life coaching industry looked a lot different than it does today.
Coaches weren’t doing the magic we are now. They weren’t even calling themselves “life coaches.”
I got laughed at.
But fast forward 17 years and this industry has grown and flourished into a space where people are proud to call themselves life coaches, and they can make a huge impact doing so.
If you’ve thought about becoming a life coach one day or you’re ready to take that step now, listen in.
This week, I pull back the curtain on what we offer inside our Certification program. Learn why we have a reputation for being the best, the skills we teach you to be an effective coach, and how to get started on your career path as a coach.

Ep #439: Quiet Quitting
Why did you stop going to yoga?
When did you stop working out consistently?
Why didn’t you launch that program?
If you don’t know the answer, it’s probably because you quit behind your own back.
Humans do this sometimes. Our primitive, toddler brains love coming up with reasons to quit. And if we aren’t keeping an eye on it, that’s what we end up doing.
However, you won’t create the results you want in your life or business if you keep quietly quitting on yourself.
This week, I invite you to look at where you’ve been quietly quitting on your goals and why. I share the reason this happens and how to stop it. Find out how to prevent yourself from quietly quitting in the future so you can finally do the thing you’ve been wanting to do.

My coaching philosophy is to help you tap into your raw human power, using the combination of your body, mind and momentum to create the life you want, rather than continue to grind away against what slows you down. Each of us has incredible power, yet it mostly just sits there, vastly underutilized, until we learn to pick it up and use it masterfully and intentionally! I’m excited about overcoming overeating coaching, because that was my first big personal win, but I can help you find your power in anything!
Ep #434: Delay Discounting
Would you rather receive $10 today or $15 next week?
What if you had to wait a month or even a year for that $15?
Most of us aren’t willing to wait because of a concept I call delay discounting.
Instead of delaying the instant gratification of earning money right now, overdrinking right now, or overeating right now, we discount the benefits of waiting.
This is stopping you from achieving your goals and creating the results you truly want deep down.
Listen in this week as I share what delay discounting is and how it’s hurting your results. Discover how to train your brain not to delay discount, why there’s no need to rush anything, and the amazing transformations and results future you will enjoy if you master this skill.

Ep #426: Transformation with the Instructors of The Life Coach School
You can learn a lot about thought work from this podcast and from being in Self Coaching Scholars.

Coaching to help YOU find MORE
I am here to help you find more in your fitness, more in relationships, more in your career, more in your LIFE! I combine my knowledge, experience, skills, and enthusiasm to help you create what you want in your life.
I stood where you stand today. I was a 33 year old stay-at-home mom who lost herself in motherhood. With zero experience in swimming, biking, or running, (or let’s be honest, any athletics at all. Seriously, throw a ball at my face and I cover my head and duck every… damn… time!) I used triathlons as a way to start creating what I wanted in life and connect with parts of me dormant for years.
It wasn’t enough. It is still not enough.
What I learned about myself in sport – my grit, resilience, my abilities to fail and keep going, problem solve, connect my mind and body are of the most powerful parts of who I am. I wanted to bring these parts to all areas of my life, not just the race course. I knew if I could show up in life like I show up in training and racing, I would be unstoppable! But I had no idea how to do it. Until…. I started using thought work to understand what my thoughts were creating in my life. This powerful teaching was the key to bring these amazing parts of myself from my athletic life to my entire life. It was the key to creating a life MORE and the life I WANT.
Now its your turn! I am passionate about helping other people GO ALL IN on what they want in their lives. I want to help you create what you want!
Want to race your first triathlon? Let’s go!
Qualify for Worlds! I can help!
Get unstuck from a career? Yep, I got you!
Quit overeating? I got that too!
Connect your incredible athletic resilience to being a better parent? 100%
I am here for all of it and I am here for you! The time to start is RIGHT NOW!

Ep #422: Anxiety Ahead of Time
You know that feeling of anticipating being embarrassed? Or anticipating being scared or uncomfortable?
What about waking up and regretting everything you did and said the night before?
That’s anxiety, and like so many of you, I know it well.
Acting or not acting from your anxiety can look like canceling plans, denying yourself opportunities, or buffering in all types of ways.
But what would happen if you intentionally chose to experience your anxiety instead of trying to avoid it?
This week, I share how working on your self-awareness can improve your experience of anxiety and some ways you can do this. Learn how doing this work improves your work with your clients, and how to stop making decisions from your anxiety.

Ep #407: How to Believe Harder
How badly do you want your dream?
Maybe you tell people how much you want it. Maybe you think about it all the time.
But thinking about your dream and telling people about it isn’t the same as believing you can have it.
The difference between wanting something and believing in yourself enough to get it is the action you take.
In this episode, I break down why believing in yourself is the ultimate key to getting what you want. Whether you want to become a certified life coach or make a million dollars in your business, I challenge you to put your actions where your mouth is. I help women who are passionate about food end chronic restrictive dieting and lose weight WHILE eating what they love.
I know how you feel – you want to be DONE with dieting.
You’re so tired of eating bland, boring food, feeling hangry, and having to count, measure, and track every last morsel.
You’re feeling defeated, stuck, and hopeless on restrictive diets you can’t stick to.
You’ve tried every plan, app, and “lifestyle” but nothing works long-term because they all take away the food you love.
You’re exhausted by feeling self-conscious and thinking about your weight all the time – you just want to enjoy your life.
I get it. I’ve been where you are and I know how to help you.
As a former Chef and Certified Sommelier, I thought I was never going to lose weight because I just loved food too much.
I thought my only options were to suffer through the deprivation diets OR to give up on my goals.
But I promise you this: you don’t have to sacrifice the life you want to lose weight. You can have fun with food every day AND reach your goals.
As an Advanced Certified Weight Loss & Mindset coach, I help women lose weight without giving up a SINGLE thing, so that they can fully enjoy the food they love AND feel amazing.
Diets give you a list of impossible rules and restrictions and zero support when life gets crazy or you have intense cravings for the food you love. It’s no surprise they don’t work.
But I’ve created a simple process to help women lose weight without starving, suffering, or cutting anything out. My clients learn how to stop overeating and emotional eating, so they can enjoy all the foods they love WHILE losing weight.
Ep #397: 5-Carat Diamond

Self Coaching Scholars has been in existence for 5 years!
For 5 years, we have been helping people lose weight, build their businesses, stop overdrinking, mend relationships, build confidence, and so much more.
In this week’s episode, I have invited five of my 5-Carat Diamonds, ladies that have been in Scholars since the start, on the show to share how being in Scholars has changed their lives. We talk about the tools that helped them the most, how to best utilize Scholars, and their advice for anyone new to the program or considering joining.
These five women are examples for all of us to see what is possible. You can create the life you want. You can be that next version of yourself. And Scholars will help you get there.

Blow up your life!
Because now is your time
I help dynamic women over 40 discover their true desires and blow up their lives.
There are messages all around
us that as we age we should live less, be less and do less.
These messages can lead us to hide, lead us not to hear our own desires, lead us to be confused and uncertain about what we want, even when though we’re dynamic and successful professionally.
They can lead us to be invisible.
F*&@ Invisible!
You were born to shine.
You were born to stand out.
You were born to share your gifts.
Your best moments are yet to
come.
You’re a sassy, badass and you
rock!
I blew up my life over 40.
Lost the weight with ease after believing it was impossible for me to stop overeating.
And after decades of thinking that business and wealth were ‘not for me’, I found coaching. In partnership with my sister, Nicky Taylor, I became an award-winning property investor with a multi-million pound portfolio, multi-6-figure business owner, number 1 best-selling author and was voted Inspirational Person of the Year by Potential Unlocked with Les Brown.
We now live lives we never imagined was available to us.
Our only regret is living in limbo for so long and not even realising what was missing.
It’s our passion now to share the message with other women to unlock their desires, see the sparks within them and blow up their lives over 40.

I help you break free from diet culture to achieve goals that illuminate your physical and mental health.
There will be no focus on macros, tight calorie goals, or specific meal plans. That is not my jam and is usually a part of that whole on-off diet cycle that we’re trying to dissolve, so let’s skip all that and get into the more juicy stuff.
Yes, I’ll get you clear on the food and nutrition AND you’re going to restore your relationship with food and your body. Your happiness is not on a deadline or at the end of the journey.
Feeling good starts now.

I help female business owners ditch dieting and overcome emotional eating so that they can finish with their lifetime struggle with weight & start living a better and healthier life.
LASTING weight loss goes beyond calories in & calories out.
Our body is complex (and amazing!); and so our minds.
And, because everything starts in your mind, you need to lose your mental weight first.
You need to release all the things that “weigh” on your mind (all the should/shouldn’t, unhealthy thoughts, habits & attitudes and manage your inner critic), in the first place.
Successful weight loss starts by managing your mind.
If you’ve tried and failed to lose weight and/or you know you’re sabotaging your weight loss success, stop stumbling around in the dark on your own and contact me to get the help you need.

Ep #383: Always Selling with Stacey Boehman
How good are you at selling? I don’t just mean in your business, I mean in your life and with yourself.
The skill of selling is super useful in every area of life. If you want to lose weight, you’ve got to sell yourself on not overeating. If you want to sit at the nicer table at a restaurant, you’ve got to sell the hostess on why it’s a good idea to seat you there.
My guest today is the one and only Stacey Boehman. Stacey is a master certified life and business coach who teaches life coaches how to sell.
From selling mops and cell phones to $15 million dollars worth of life coaching, Stacey is the person to talk to about sales.
In this episode, Stacey and I discuss why learning how to sell effectively is important for everyone, not just entrepreneurs. We talk about selling in terms of dating, how to sell yourself on being worthy, and how to get over your fear of rejection.

Ep #382: Resting vs. Laziness
There are some people who work all the time and never rest. Other people rest constantly without working.
Somewhere in between is the sweet spot of working hard and resting when we need to.
But what if your laziness is stopping you from working at all?
Maybe you have goals, dreams, and work to do, but you don’t do it. This struggle is real, my friends, but I want you to know that being lazy is optional. It has no real use in our lives.
In this episode, I show you how to overcome your laziness once and for all. Learn how to know if you’re being lazy or truly resting, why we let ourselves be lazy, and how to finally start getting the work done without drama.
You always have the choice to stay in bed, not work out, and to buffer instead of taking action. But I invite you not to. Will you accept?

I don’t believe losing weight should be hard and miserable, its what you have dreamt of all your life and you have spent years with the emotional burden of food and trying to fight your way to the physical results you desire.
I believe when you understand the cause of your overeating and start creating a life you want to live in a body you feel confident in the physical results just keep coming.
In theory it sounds simple, but its not easy like anything that we want most, which is why I structure the program to provide 1-1 24/7 support, so that I am there to help you through all seasons of your life, the good and the more challenging. I help you find YOUR way.
This isn’t a cookie cutter approach.
This is the way you will lose weight for good this time and have a lot of fun doing it!
Susann Cloutier, MA

Comfortably fit in an airplane seat
Enjoy how I look in the mirror

Ep #374: Bored Choices
When was the last time you let yourself be bored?
Usually, when we feel boredom coming on, we frantically look for something to entertain or occupy us. We pack our schedules full so we’re too busy to get bored. We shove devices into our kids’ hands to keep them entertained.
My friends, we are missing out on a massive opportunity when we do this.
Your life reveals itself to you when you take the time to notice it. But when we jump into busyness and entertainment anytime we’re bored, we don’t give ourselves this chance.
In this episode, I share why boredom is such a beautiful opportunity to assess your life and get to know yourself. I want you to use boredom and be open to what it shows you. I tell you how to intentionally practice being bored and how to stop trying to outrun it.
My hope is that you take some time this week to sit in your boredom and see what happens.

Ep #368: Why Style Matters with Judith Gaton
Pause what you’re doing and look down at what you’re wearing. Do you feel confident?
If you wouldn’t want to be photographed in the clothes you tend to wear every day, you’re probably not showing up for yourself, your relationships, or your business the way you want to.
My guest today is the Professor of Glam and Elegance, Judith Gaton, and she helps her clients find and display their confidence through their style. Judith is a style coach for women, especially curvy women, and she’s also the author of How to Be a F*cking Lady.
Judith says that style is an outward expression of your thoughts and feelings about yourself. If you aren’t dressing confidently, you probably don’t feel confident. In today’s podcast, she shares exactly how to change that.
In this episode, Judith shares why style matters so much more than you think. She’s showing us where to start with finding your personal style, what to do if standard clothing sizes don’t fit you, and how to start showing up as the badass, confident, amazing person you are.

I help high achieving executive women end years of dieting and weight loss struggle and finally find their healthy weight by ending their emotional eating.
Diets don’t work. Getting to the root cause of your overeating and healing your relationship with food and your body goes.
– Ditch the calorie counting and other diet rules
– Eat foods you actually want to eat
– Tune into the world’s best calorie counter: your body
– Learn the skills need to end your emotional eating
– Apply coaching tools to manage urges and improve your relationship with food and your body
I spent years eating my emotions, related to the stress of my fast-paced job in corporate finance and trying to balance it with single parenting. It culminated in my early 50’s when I was at my highest weight ever and found myself with multiple medical issues. I knew time was running out to finally figure it out, so that I could be around for my family for years and live the active second half of life I deserved.
I lost over 40 lbs and got off my type 2 diabetes meds when I finally ditched the diet nonsense and focused on the reasons I was overeating. Weight loss naturally and simply happens when you deal with the reasons you overeat.
I love helping women who have achieved career, financial, and personal success, but have never been able to lose weight for good, make peace with food, get to the root cause of their overeating, and finally find their healthy weight.
In addition to being certified by The Life Coach School, I hold an Advanced Weightloss Coaching Certification from Corinne Crabtree’s No BS Weight Loss University.

I help Christian women overcome mindless overeating and lose weight, for the last time without restrictive dieting.

Ep #366: The Last 10 Pounds with Brenda Lomeli
Do you keep trying to lose the same ten pounds over and over again? It’s said that the last ten pounds are the hardest to lose, but maybe you’re starting to wonder if it’s even possible for you.
From my personal experience and the experience of today’s guest, I know that it is 100% possible for you. But not when it comes from a place of hurry, anxiety, and self-hatred.
Brenda Lomeli is an incredible master certified life coach, holistic nutrition specialist, and creator of The Last 10™ Method. Her simple, smart, and comprehensive method helps empower women to put an end to their struggle with food and dieting and achieve their desired weight loss unapologetically.
A woman after my own heart, Brenda is a self-proclaimed rule-breaker who helps her clients break society’s rules for women’s bodies so they too can live a life of pleasure and ease.
In this episode, Brenda and I break down why it’s so hard to lose those last 10 pounds when you come from a place of hate, and what happens when you come from a place of love instead. We talk about how Brenda’s program is unique and why she focuses on deconditioning her client’s diet mentality in addition to learning how to listen to their bodies. You are the authority on your body, and Brenda’s work teaches you how to act like it.

Ep #365: Model Questions and Tips
The foundation of what we teach in Self Coaching Scholars is the Model, a tried and true method of bringing awareness to your thoughts and creating the life you want.
In its purest form, the Model is a powerful tool for dropping deeper into your life.
We get lots of questions about the Model. How long does it take to believe a new thought? How strict should you be with what goes in the lines? How do you use an intentional model?
I thought it would be super helpful to answer some of the most commonly asked questions we get here on the podcast.
Tune in today to gain a deeper understanding of the Model and how to use this amazing tool to create the results you want. Even if you’re well-versed in the Model and use it often, this episode will advance your understanding so you can use it even more effectively.
The Model has been life-changing for so many people, myself included. I can’t wait for you to dig deeper into this tool and start seeing the results it helps you produce.

Ep #364: Overcoming Obstacles with Brenda Lomeli, Judith Gaton, Monica Sosa, Esperanza Lebron, and Maggie Reyes
When we see women who look like us excelling, we believe that it is possible for us to succeed as well. It’s why representation in every industry is so important.
The amazing women on the podcast today are setting this example for younger Latinx generations all over the world. They have each come into their own success as coaches with Latinx backgrounds and I am so excited to share our discussion here today.
From generational wealth to weight loss as immigrants to the United States, we cover a lot in this episode. But it all comes back to one thing: allowing yourself to be yourself.
Listen in today for my conversation with six Latinx life coaches on their experiences rising in this industry and why representation matters so much. We explore how each of them found coaching, the unique obstacles they faced as women of color, and why even if you try to not be who you are, it will still seep out.
Remember, you get to decide who you will become. These ladies decided to be successful while being themselves, and you can too.

Matthea Rentea MD
I help women to health their relationship with food, to finally put dieting and yo-yo weight loss in the past. A strong emphasis of my coaching is on understanding self-sabotage, and how to bring in self-compassion so the changes you make stick around for life!

Property managers are busy. If you want to make it in this business, you must be “on” all the time. So, how do you make time for yourself?
Years ago, I handled the demands of this high-paced industry by “over-doing” it.
Overeating.
Overworking.
Overdrinking.
Overthinking.
Overanalyzing.
Overcompensating.
Thankfully… I learned how to “get over” it all so I could create a life I truly enjoyed.
Hi, I’m Anna and I’m a Work – Health – Life Balance Coach. I help busy property managers who are “over it” reclaim authority and balance in their life. I work with high-achieving real estate managers who struggle to balance their health with the demands of a face-paced career.
This is for women who do all the things.. except the things they need to do for themselves.
You can balance it all. I am here to show you the tools you need, teach you how to use them so you can step into the best version of yourself. By transforming yourself, you transform your life. Let me show you how.
Joanna Zajusz
Hello! It’s a great honor when clients share with me their minds and souls! And I feel most purposeful when I can assist you in your transformations.
If you struggle with emotional eating and overeating, I can help you end the cycle of quitting and transform your relationship with food. We will uncover your limiting beliefs. You will practice using the power of your mind deliberately and lose weight without tricks or painful procedures. You will feel in control in any situation and learn tools for life.
The topics we cover in weight loss often go deep. While coaching is powerful enough, I also offer hypnotherapy (since 2013) to clients who want to explore their subconscious mind.
In addition, I help creatives to stop procrastinating and start expressing themselves while feeling aligned.
Tara Epes
I help active, professional women succeed with how to keep weight off, without deprivation, by identifying and changing the behaviors causing overeating to stop the habits for good.
Clair Mackenzie
I help female professionals and entrepreneurs, in the 40s and 50s, create a relationship with food and themselves that they love, so that they can stop overeating and lose weight for the last time .
Don’t embark on another diet, set sail on an adventure that will take you…
- from diet deprivation to enjoyment of tasty nourishing food
- from battling will power to total food freedom
- from self loathing to self-loving
- from living to eat to eating to live
- step-by-step from overweight to permanently slim
I lost 6 stone after struggling with my own weight for decades when I learned how to look inwards and create a better relationship with myself, food and my life though mindset work and coaching. Would you like to find food freedom, feel self-appreciation and live a life you love too?
Julie DeWitt
OMG! You’ve Got to Hear This! My program uses a commonsense process which includes NO counting calories, NO measuring food portions & NO meal plans. My process works 100% if you put the work in. Food is not good or bad, it’s just food. Diets are ineffective because they treat the “symptoms” of weight gain, not the “root causes.” My program focuses on the “CAUSES” of why you are overweight. It’s not about your love for food, it’s what you’re “THINKING” about food.
You will learn why your brain is not the problem, it’s your ANSWER & the solution to being overweight in not out there, ALL your answers are inside you. I will help you uncover what is keeping you stuck on your weight loss journey because I can see what you can’t. I will guide you to identify what thoughts & feels are holding you back from losing weight. You will learn strategies to overcome ALL the obstacles that are getting in your way.
I solely work 1 on 1 with clients. I have the exact process that takes away overeating & overhuger for permanent results. It’s simple, you are overweight because you are overeating & over desiring food. Weight loss is not complicated. It takes understanding how your thoughts & feelings contribute to you being overweight. I will teach you hunger awareness & how to stop using food to escape or numb out from what you are thinking &/or feeling. You will get a customized plan just for you. Are you ready to create the life you always wanted? I’m ready to help you.I know from personal experience that once you understand what is blocking you from reaching your goals, the weight comes off for good. My training & specialty is to teach you how to end yo-yo dieting for good.
Corinne Crabtree
You need a program that addresses the mental weight slowing down your physical weightloss.
You aren’t overweight because you haven’t found the right meal plan, workout, or calorie range. You’re overweight for one simple reason. Your hand goes to your mouth when you ain’t hungry for food.
I lost 100lbs because I learned how to quit eating when I…
- Worried I’d be left out of the fun.
- Had a bad day and tried to fix it with a roll of cookie dough.
- Wanted to get my money’s worth by finishing off food instead of savoring what I was eating.
These are just a few examples of the BS eating that had me 100lbs overweight most of my life. When I figured out how to quit emotionally eating, I lost my weight—and I’ve kept it off for over 15 years.
When you drop the mental weight, your physical weight comes off so much easier.
Mental weight comes in many forms. Maybe you…
- Restrict the foods you allow yourself because you’re afraid you’ll eat your face off.
- Talk to yourself like an asshole after overeating or when you “screw up.”
- Worry and obsess about what people think of you.
You see, these are the things the diet industry doesn’t teach you. But, I will. Because I get it.
You need someone who can walk with you, hand in hand, as you learn how to change your life so you can change your weight.

Ep #341: Desires
Our desires are important. They are the map to follow to our best life. But often what we think we want is convoluted by social expectations and programming.
Paying attention to your true desire is easier said than done. We’ve all desired things that weren’t good for us or didn’t contribute to who we wanted to be. For some of us, it’s alcohol, for others, it’s gambling, porn, or something else.
As humans, we’re designed to want more. More growth, more expansion.
But how do we decide if a desire is worth pursuing?
What happens if you pursue a false desire instead of a true one?
These are the types of questions I answer in today’s episode. Paying attention to what we truly desire is one of the most important things we can do. Listen in to find out about the difference between false and true desires, and between manufacturing and allowing desire.
Once you understand these tools, there’s nothing stopping you from creating your dream life.
So, when no one’s watching and there’s no judgment, what is your truest desire?

Moving Forward 2
We may be all isolated in our own homes, but we’re going through a lot of the same struggles. So today, I’m sharing one of my recent coaching calls to offer you all a little insight from inside Scholars.
Let me start by telling you something: the human experience is not supposed to be a vacation.
Don’t be surprised when there are struggles and challenges. That’s how life was intended to be. How we respond to the challenges and move through them is what matters.
In this episode, we discuss backlash for selling in “a time like this,” taking social distancing to a whole other level, and anticipating a financial storm that hasn’t even happened yet. We all love watching people struggle in books and movies, but we don’t want to experience it ourselves. But, guess what? This is the human experience! And it’s beautiful!
Moving Forward
We’re moving into a new phase of episodes to help you cope and thrive during the ongoing uncertainty. Over the next several days, I’ll be posting episodes in the Moving Forward series about how to do just that.
This is not the time to procrastinate, hold back, or shut down. It’s a time to act.
When we don’t know how to manage our emotions, they can consume our lives. They make focusing on work difficult, especially if you’re now working from home. Many of us will turn to unhealthy habits to take the place of coping with our emotions. There are no benefits to this.
I’m going to use this episode series to show you how working through your emotions can make you more productive than ever before. No more excuses. Be brave and face them. Don’t get stuck in the past.
The feedback I’ve received from the Handling Chaos series is amazing and I’m going to be using some of your questions and insights in the upcoming episodes. I’ll also be including insights from my Self Coaching Scholars coaches on how they’re helping their clients manage their emotions so they can perform at their best.
We’re done being panicked and scared. Let’s move forward.
Handling Chaos
Over the next several days, I’m going to be releasing a series of special episodes to help any of you who may be feeling brain chaos right now.
I’ve got you. I am here to help.
As humans, we tend to stop thinking on purpose when we feel powerless and out of control. But I believe that, although the situation is uncertain, this is an important opportunity to take back the power of our thinking and make our mental health even stronger.
I’m going to use these episodes to remind you that without thoughts, there is no fear. To offer that this is an opportunity to move closer to fear or away from it. To move closer to love or away from it. And to give you permission to feel calm right now and ask how you can help.
This is a time for us coaches to do our best work. I’ve asked my coaches for their best tips and coaching, which I will share with all of you in the coming episodes. I will also be sharing some of my coaching sessions from Scholars on the podcast to help any of you who may be experiencing the same thoughts.
Let’s start putting our minds to positive contribution to our life.
Ep #310: My Business Model
I get a lot of questions about The Life Coach School, so I’ve been bringing them to the podcast to answer all in one place. This week, I want to give you an inside look at the business model of The Life Coach School, my approach to marketing, and why overdelivering is our jam.
There are four components in my business model, and in this episode I’ll run you through each one: marketing, Self Coaching Scholars, Coach Certification, and overdelivering.
You’ll learn about why I work so hard to find people who need the Model, the value that clients get from Scholars, and why I’ve kept my offerings narrow. There’s a lot more than that to dig into in this episode, so whether you’re just starting out in business or running something bigger than The Life Coach School, there will be something here for you.
If you have any follow-up questions about the business, send them to [email protected] – I will do another episode so all your business-related questions are answered!

Ep #305: Stop Tolerating
We all buffer in some ways. Many of us have big buffers, like overdrinking, overeating, or people-pleasing. Some of us have worked through one layer of buffering just to discover a new one. I know that’s the case for me, even though I tolerate a lot less than I used to.
We buffer with things like food, alcohol, and other distractions because they make life more bearable. But on the other side of the buffering is some really important information that you’re going to want access to if you’re planning on creating the life you really want.
In this episode we’re diving deep into why we buffer and what we’re tolerating. We’ll talk about why your capacity to respond to life is lower when you’re buffering, and what all those things you’re tolerating have to teach you. And we’ll chat about what happens when you stop buffering, and what you’ll need to do next.

Ep #303: Cultivating Power
When do you feel powerful? For me, I feel powerful when I’m making decisions. When I’m turning my ideas into reality. When I’m managing my mind and choosing how to react to the world.
I think most of society has power backward. We think that power comes from outside, from bossing people around, from ascending to some special position. But true power must be generated from within. And it’s something that all of us are capable of doing.
In today’s episode, I’m talking about how to cultivate your personal power and why power must be creative rather than destructive. I’ll tell you how you can learn to define power for yourself, why peace and compassion are some of our most powerful traits, and what you can do to practice feeling powerful every day.
Feeling empowered is a cornerstone of a successful fulfilling life, but you have to set out to create power for yourself—not wait for someone else to give it to you.

Ep #300: Taking Action 2.0
I feel so proud of the fact that we’ve made it to episode 300. And I’m blessed to be able to show up in your ears every week, and that you share your time and your lives with me. So to celebrate, for the first time in the history of the show, I wanted to replay an episode.
I thought it would be fun to circle back to the first-ever episode of the podcast. I thought that things would be really different, but really, so much is the same. The Brooke of episode 1 even taught the Brooke of episode 300 a thing or two.
In this episode, I talk a bit about the journey to 300 episodes of the podcast. Then we dive into episode 1, which is all about why you aren’t taking action. We talk about The Model, why you can’t just will yourself into changing your habits, and why it’s so much easier to change once you understand how your thoughts create your actions.
Thank you so much for doing this with me every week. Here’s to 300 more!

Ep #295: Pain Now or Later
If you had to choose between feeling pain now or later, which one would you pick? Most of us choose pain later, whether we do so consciously or not. We’d rather buffer away our pain with work, food, alcohol or some other distraction than face it.
Pain is a part of life, my friends. It’s part of what makes us human, and it helps us evolve. So today I want to make a case for why you should always choose to feel pain now instead of later.
In this episode, I’m talking about why we learn to buffer our pain and how, as adults, we need to process our pain. We’ll dig into the affect unprocessed pain has on our lives and how you can start allowing the pain in. And I’ll tell you how your life can expand when you allow yourself to feel pain, and some things that can make it easier to accept.

Ep #290: Why You Drink with Rachel Hart
There is so much unnecessary suffering around overdrinking. People define themselves by their urges to drink, or strain against these urges so much that there isn’t much space left in their brain for anything else.
What if I told you your life could be genuinely better without drinking? That you could eliminate the desire for a drink altogether?
I know it sounds impossible. I used to think so too.
So many of us don’t think we need treatment or to stop drinking because we don’t have an addiction, it hasn’t had any negative effects on our health, or we don’t drink around our family. But I know a lot of you experience alcohol the same way I did. It wasn’t a social thing for me—it became my recovery from a long day of work or a particularly stressful situation. And it was happening every single day.
In today’s episode, Rachel Hart and I are talking all about the urge to drink, how and why we both stopped drinking alcohol, and why the key to changing your relationship with alcohol is learning to manage your mind. We also talk through some of the common obstacles people come up against when trying to take a break, and how to take a break from drinking that actually addresses the root causes of your desire.

Ep #285: Giving It Up
I was chatting with a friend recently about a mindset shift for over-drinking, over-eating, and any other habits that you no longer want to be part of your life.
This shift can feel subtle, but it will have a big impact on your ability to close the circle, move on from these behaviors, and create ones you actually want in your life.
Ask yourself: What am I done experiencing? What have I had enough of for a lifetime?
In this episode I’m walking you through this thought process and sharing a quick exercise you can do to figure out what you’re done with.
Instead of thinking about how much you’re missing out on if you don’t drink, eat sugar, or date anymore, thinking of yourself as completing a natural process feels like freedom, instead of lack.

Ep #282: Body Thoughts
Most of us think that our experience of the world IS the world itself.
In reality, our experience of the world is how we process the world with our mind (thoughts and feelings) and our body – using our sensations.
This is crucial to remember when you’re thinking about your body
On this episode, I want to talk to you about your body and using it to experience the world as well as your experience of your body.
This may sound a bit trippy but stick with me as I first show you how to separate your thoughts from the facts of your body and then explain how you can be 100% present in your body and experience it without judgement.
If you have body image issues or if you’re someone who’s trying to stop overdrinking, overeating, or any other type of buffering, you will not want to miss this episode!

Ep #277: Weight Loss Struggles with Natalie Brown
This week, I’m excited to talk to one of my favorite students and weight loss coaches, Natalie Brown.
Natalie, like many women, started out early on the hamster wheel of dieting and spent most of her youth chasing the idea of “skinny = happy.” After struggling for many years, she embarked on the journey of discovering mind work (and coaching), finding the reasons behind her overhunger and overdesire for food, and losing 50 pounds.
Join us on this fun interview as Natalie shares her journey of weight loss and pulls back the curtain on what it’s like to be a weight loss coach. We also explore some of the biggest struggles Natalie’s clients deal with when it comes to losing weight and what you can do if you find yourself in similar situations.
If you’re ready to lose weight for the last time and would like to work with Natalie in a small group setting, visit https://itbeginswithathought.com.

Ep #276: Weight Loss: The Right Way vs The Wrong Way
One of the tragedies that I see, mostly with women, is how much time so many of us spend thinking about how much we weigh, what we’re eating or not eating, and what we ate or will eat in the future.
On this episode of The Life Coach School Podcast, I want to teach you the difference between losing weight the right way and the wrong way (and it’s probably not what you think).
We take a look at the importance that self-love plays in the weight loss process and why recording what you ate and planning what to eat is a part of that equation. I also show you exactly how to talk to yourself when you come face-to-face with a decision to eat or not to eat something in a way that serves you and treats you with unconditional love.
Join me today and start moving towards a life where really good, normal eating becomes habitual so you can use the energy spent on worrying about your weight on bigger and better things in your life!
Make sure to tune in next week as I talk to one of our weight loss coaches, Natalie Brown, to show you what it’s like to be coached around losing and keeping weight off for good.

Ep #264: Decision Debt
If you listened to my previous episode on Superthinking, you know that I am a fan of combining two different ideas from completely different areas of life or business. So today, I’d like to share with you a concept that is one such “idea baby.”
Most of you know that I am obsessed with utilizing our brain for making decisions ahead of time thus changing the quality of our lives. Also, in my recent research on the topic of money, I’ve been reading about the different types of debt.
Combining these two ideas – consumer debt and not making decisions – I had an epiphany that when we prolong decisions or procrastinate, we end up with a bunch of unmade decisions hanging over us that are nagging at us in the back of our mind. I call this “decision debt.”
Join me this week as we explore the reasons why we leave decisions unmade and how it zaps the energy from our brain and keeps us stuck.
What is YOUR decision debt costing you?
Listen in to discover exactly how to rid yourself of the debt of confusion and regain power over your life.

Ep #263: The Urge Jar
Welcome to another episode of The Life Coach School Podcast, my friends!
Today, I’m SUPER excited to share with you the most effective brain hack that I have ever used on myself and my clients.
Join me on this episode as I re-visit my three main concepts of weight loss to make sure you’re up to speed on those tools. Then, I share a process that utilizes what we know about the brain, neurotransmitters, and the human body to hack our decision making and reward system.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about this powerful tool that takes all of my teachings about weight loss and puts it in a simple quick-start process that will help you recognize anything that’s not in alignment with what you want for the long term.
If you join Self Coaching Scholars, you will get an Urge Jar and The Life Coach School Food Journal to help you with this process.

Ep #262: Believing the Model
The Model is one of the tools that I created (based on my studies/observations of existing truths) for myself and my clients to help manage our minds and navigate this life. As I take my work deeper into my own self coaching, I wanted to share with you the importance of believing in the Model.
On this episode, I talk about my personal evolvement through the process of using the Model in my self coaching and the results and revelations I’ve experienced along the way. Then, I break down what exactly it means to really believe in this powerful tool based on universal truth and show you what you can do to stay faithful to your desired Model, no matter what, to achieve any result you want.

Ep #261: Throw Away Your To-Do List
There’s this idea that the more successful people are, the busier they become.
I don’t agree with this sentiment.
In reality, “busier” people are simply sloppy with their time management and there is no direct correlation with how successful one is and how much time they have available.
This week, I’m excited to share with you a webinar that I recorded on the topic of throwing away your to-do list in which I show you exactly how you can create more time and get more efficient in every area of your life.

Ep #258: Selling with Stacey Boehman
Selling is an integral part of life.
Don’t believe me?
Think about all the ways we’re constantly selling ourselves (and others) on ideas, concepts, and actions. You may sell yourself on the idea that it’s better for you to wake up at 6 a.m. and do a workout than it is to hit the snooze button ten times. Or you might sell your friend on the idea that they should book an amazing vacation with you so you can make some lifelong memories together.
Being good at selling is key to being good at life.
To talk about selling and why it’s so important, I’m joined on this episode by Stacey Boehman. Stacey has several programs that are designed to help life coaches get better at selling, make more money, and deliver more value to more people. We discuss why it’s so important for life coaches (and everyone else) to learn how to sell well. We talk about separating the benefits the seller gets from sales from the benefits the client gets from sales, why you should focus on the latter, and why you have to really believe in what you’re selling.

Ep #254: Restriction Love
There is an idea in the self-help world that if you restrict something (like food or alcohol or something else) in your life, you will end up overdoing it later. This idea is taught as if it was a fact; as if for every restriction we create for ourselves, there’s an equal opposite overdoing or bingeing of the thing we restricted.
I believed this teaching until I proved it wrong in my own life.
Today, I want to teach you what I believe is true about restriction and introduce you to a new concept I came up with. I call it “restriction love” and it’s the idea that we restrict things in our lives out of love, and because it comes from a place of love, we don’t end up punishing ourselves on the other end.
Join me as we look at the reason why restricting from the place of self loathing and punishing yourself simply doesn’t work long-term and what you can do instead in order to achieve your goals.
Don’t miss this opportunity to clear up any confusion that you may have about restricting things in your life and discover how to use restriction in a way that supports you in the ultimate results that you want in your life.

Ep #251: Two Types of Discomfort
Discomfort is the currency to your dreams.
If you’ve been listening to my podcast, I’m sure you’ve heard me say those words more than once. And what I mean by that is that in order for you to grow into the next version of yourself, you’re going to be uncomfortable.
You will not be in your familiar surroundings, thinking the same familiar thoughts, and experiencing familiar emotions if you are pushing yourself beyond your current comfort zone.
Today, I’m excited to explore this topic in more detail and talk to you about two types of discomfort – one that moves you forward and makes your stronger, and the other that holds you back and stunts your growth.
Join me as I show you how you can distinguish between the type of discomfort that serves you, and type that doesn’t, and explain what you can do in order to get yourself on the right track to your goals.

Ep #248: Superthinking
Most of us live life on default. We live off the programming of our upbringing and our society.
We don’t live a conscious, deliberate life.
It is only when you start doing thought work and coaching yourself that you begin using the most important tool given to you – your mind – to its fullest capacity.
Today, we’re going deeper into the topic of thought work and take a look at the key skills you need to learn in order do what I call “superthinking” – the highest level of thinking to achieve anything you want in life. We also revisit the main attributes of good mental hygiene and then dive into the ins and outs of exactly what it means to be in full control of your mind.

Ep #246: Modern Mental Health
My latest “obsession” is the topic of modern mental health and what it means to be emotionally healthy in this day.
It’s important to understand that our brain and our cognitive and emotional life is a problem in the modern environment. And if we don’t learn to manage our brain, we will be in quite a bit of trouble.
Over the next two weeks, I want to feature one of my recent webinars on this topic. And for those of you who haven’t seen the webinar, I decided to share its content in these episodes.
This week we take a look at what modern mental health is all about and how it differs from happiness. We look at the biggest misconceptions and faulty teaching about emotions that we were inundated with over the years and take a look at how to figure out whether you’re emotionally healthy or unhealthy.
So if you want better emotional health, this is a treat for you. Buckle in, grab your earbuds or power on your smart speakers and listen in.

Ep #245: Body Image with Kara Loewentheil
Quick disclaimer: This episode contains some explicit language. Please plan accordingly if you plan on listening to it around kids.
Overall, I think a lot of the work I do around body image is misunderstood. So today, I invited one of my students, Master Certified Coach Kara Loewentheil, who specializes in this topic to set the record straight and help me explore this subject in depth.
It’s easy to get caught up in what you think you’re “supposed” to look like in order to be worthy, to be lovable, but Kara and I are going to break down why feelings of self loathing don’t go away even when you lose a lot of weight without doing the work on your thoughts.
Join us today for a candid conversation on how society conditions women to view their bodies, why you can’t hate yourself thin, and what you can do to start loving your body the way that it is right now and overcome the dissatisfaction a lot of us have with our bodies.
For anyone who wants to lose weight or just wants to be okay in your current body, you should definitely attend Kara’s UnF*ck Your Body Image Masterclass on Jan 6th, 2019 before you embark on that journey.

Ep #243: Normal Eating?
What is normal? How do YOU define normal?
Why are we so worried about being normal and doing things that are normal?
One of the things that has become “normal” in today’s culture is to be overweight. And I think the reason why that has become the norm is that we have become accustomed to eating foods that don’t serve our body and doing so for the wrong reasons.
On today’s episode, I take a look at the topic of normal eating, what people conform to and feel pressured to do, and why we don’t question these things even if they don’t serve us. We also explore the biggest misconceptions about our eating and drinking habits, as well as weight loss, and discuss our relationships with food.

Ep #242: Depression
I am someone who has had her share of depression… I’ve had experience with clients who have been depressed, as well as a mother and a grandmother who have been “clinically” depressed.
Oftentimes, people have a lot of shame about their depression which leads them down the rabbit hole of feeling even more hopeless in their lives and can lead to self loathing.
This week, we explore what depression is all about, why so many people get stuck in it, and why it’s so difficult for them to get out of it. I also explain how you can use The Self Coaching Model to better navigate this difficult time of your life.
Join me for proven tools, tips, and strategies to help you get out of the loop of thought errors and negativity and into a loop of positivity and empowerment. Don’t miss this opportunity to break the endless cycle of depression and exhausting negativity, or at the very least feel a little bit better.

Ep #240: Lessons from Success
Over the past five years, I have had more success than I ever thought possible. So on this episode of “Lessons from,” I decided to do something a bit different…
Today, I want to share my experience of the success that I have achieved through applying The Model in all areas of my life and business. Join me as I talk about my money mindset, dealing with advice from others, the reason why we should always continue growing, and other important lessons I learned from my personal success.

Ep #239: Neurotransmitters
If we look at our brain’s function at a very basic level, our brain is full of neurons, also called nerve cells, that don’t touch each other. The way these neurons communicate with each other is through neurotransmitters, also referred to as the body’s chemical messengers.
In this episode, we take an in-depth look at the five main neurotransmitters—dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, endorphin, and cortisol—how they evolved over time and how they affect our brain and nervous system. I explain how this “software” happens to be programmed in a way that often makes us think that there’s something wrong with us.
Join us to discover why you do what you do—often seemingly unwillingly—and why you then use those natural tendencies of your brain against yourself. Tune in to find out exactly how neurotransmitters affect your urges, desires, needs for connection (even if it’s at your own expense), and how you can utilize them for your benefit rather than being at the effect of them.

Ep #223: Self Sabotage
“Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping.”
– Jordan Peterson
This week, I want to talk to you about something that most of us do and are usually quite confused about, believing that we have no control over it. I’m talking about self sabotage.
Self sabotage is a way that we react to our emotions. It is something we do to ourselves consciously rather than something that just happens to us and it comes from a place of fear.
So knowing that this is within our control, how do we stop the vicious spiral of disrupting our progress toward our goals and dreams?
On this episode of The Life Coach School, we take a look at three different ways you may be sabotaging yourself on a regular basis and how you can figure out exactly why you’re doing it. Listen in to find out how you can kick self sabotage to the curb and take control of your life and your future.

Ep #222: Discomfort on Purpose
Most people do not like to feel discomfort.
The reason why we are not as far as we’d like to be with our goals – whether it’s weight-loss, quitting drinking, building a business – is because we have chosen not to be uncomfortable.
Changing and doing new things is very uncomfortable.
It is uncomfortable to risk rejection and experience failure.
However, doing these hard things and experiencing discomfort is THE ONLY road to success.
Join me this week as we take a look at the two types of discomfort we can experience and explore the power of experiencing the type of discomfort that comes with growing on purpose.

Ep #217: How to Organize Your Life with Shira Gill
This week, on The Life Coach School podcast, I’m excited to continue our conversation with Shira Gill. Last week, we talked about how so many of us look at our problems (organization and clutter specifically) as so big and insurmountable that we often can’t simply take the first step to solving them. We also covered the importance of making small, vital changes in our lives and how to actually begin that journey.
Today, we dive deeper into the topic of organization and take a look at why it matters (not just so you can have a clean house but also for so many other reasons) and why you should consider putting your energy into organizing your life and home. Join us as we discuss general idea of the organization and a talk about Shira’s incredible new program, why I think it matters, and why every single one of you should consider joining and going through her process.

Ep #215: Questions and Answers
This week, I’m super excited to do something fun that we haven’t done on The Life Coach School Podcast in a while. I’m going to read some of the responses from our listeners and answer some of the questions that you guys have sent in.
I teach a lot of concepts that are difficult for people to really wrap their heads around. They are so counter-intuitive to the way that we’ve been taught since our childhood.
So in this episode, I answer the questions that address your struggle to fully understand and accept the concepts that I teach and touch on your objections to them.

Ep #212: Simple Solutions
Most people spend too much time thinking and talking about their problems and the effects of those problems. This makes these problems overcomplicated, dragged out, and extremely tedious.
Over the past 10 or so years, I’ve had the pleasure to work on my own, for myself. And in this period of working on my business, having to rely on myself and solve my own problems, I feel like I’ve developed a skill of being able to find a solution to problems a lot quicker than most people.
On this episode, I want to share a simple philosophy that will help you tremendously when looking for simple solutions to most complex problems. Tune in as I outline a step-by-step process that you can use to solve any problem quickly and effectively.

Ep #209: Minimum Baseline
So many of us struggle with self-discipline, our follow-through, and our integrity because of our conditioning to work for some sort of symbol of approval from someone else. We’ve been conditioned to show up to get a gold star, A+, or a paycheck. And on the other hand, we’re not used to being consistent and achieving something over the long term, even if there’s no short-term reward.
This week, I want to talk to you about a concept – a powerful coaching tool – that I came up with to help my clients start thinking about themselves in a different way and start honoring their own plans.
I call it the Minimum Baseline.
On this episode, I explain why having a minimum baseline is crucial to creating meaningful and consistent change in your life and how you can get started today.
Don’t miss this opportunity to completely transform your relationship with yourself and trust that you will follow through with any commitment to yourself, no matter what.

Ep #203: How to Not Be Shy
This week, I want to talk to you about how to overcome shyness.
If you consider yourself shy, you’re surely familiar with being overwhelmed being around others, feeling uncomfortable, timid, and insecure.
For those of you who view shyness as a character trait that cannot be changed, I bring you good news: It can absolutely be changed. And in this episode, I will show you exactly how you can do it.
Join me as I share some of the skills I use to work around these issues of shyness and what you can begin doing today to start to enjoy social interactions a lot more.
Listen in to discover how you can make yourself more pleasant, warm, and friendly when you meet new people, feel more confident, and leave your shyness behind.
As a bonus, for those who are interested to learn more about my business and how I run it, make sure to stay tuned after the main topic. Ep #197: Urges
Many of my students give in to confusion when it comes to managing their urges.
Any sort of buffering behavior that you engage in – overeating, overdrinking, escaping to the world of social media or passive entertainment – is easy to stop doing. The difficult part is the feeling that you will be left with if you don’t follow through on an urge to buffer.
I created this week’s episode as a resource that you can come back to in order to understand what’s really going on “under the hood” when you experience an urge. Listen in as I walk you through a process of understanding your urges and give you the best way of dealing with any urge that comes up.

Ep #196: My Plan for 2018
Today, I’m very excited to talk to you about my plans for 2018, and also, share my thoughts about the importance of planning ahead.
I think that way too many of you are locked into reacting to your lives, feeling out of control, and not planning. One of the reasons why you don’t plan your year ahead of time is because you’re afraid of failing and you’re way too caught up in the “how” of things instead of thinking about the “what.”
In this episode, I want to talk to you about being a future-focused person who has gratitude ahead of time as I share everything that I’m going to accomplish in 2018 and in the near future.
December is the perfect time to reflect on what you did last year and to plan where you will be at this time next year. So let’s do this work together and make 2018 the best year possible!

Ep #193: What I Teach and Why
In my work life, I’m a teacher and a coach, and I am very compelled to teach the things that have impacted me the most.
In this episode, I want to talk to you about the main themes and topics that I teach and go into detail about why I teach them. Listen in as I cover the following areas that I think are crucial for everyone to understand:
- The importance of mental health and emotional maturity
- The Self Coaching Model
- The power of knowing how to process your emotions
- Relationships (with yourself and others)
- Belief systems
- Time management
- Money management
- Outcomes & goal setting
- Taking massive action
- Purpose & contribution
- Buffering

Ep #192: A Year in Review
This week, I’m excited to talk to you about an exercise that will help you make strides in your life and business.
I am a firm believer in at least once a year reflecting back and reviewing your year to ask yourself whether you accomplished what you wanted and what you learned from everything that transpired to help you decide what you want to do next year.
On this episode, I show you how I conduct my year in review on the business side of things (since that’s the area that has experienced the most dramatic growth for me) and share how I use that information to help me start the next year with momentum and planned success.
Join me as I guide you through the process of doing your year in review to help you figure out how you can have the best year ever in 2018.
Whether you’re a part of the Self Coaching Scholars or not, I want to encourage all of you to join me on this journey and do this important yearly reflection exercise.

Ep #187: Neutrality of CIRCUMSTANCES
This month on the podcast, and in Self Coaching Scholars, we’re working on emotional management. The main idea behind this practice is that life presents us with neutral circumstances and we choose to interpret them positively or negatively, which creates a full range of human experience.
On the first session of this series, we’re taking a deep dive into the neutrality of circumstances and why ANYTHING that happens in the world is neither inherently bad nor good. I explain why you must develop the skill of being able to interpret any situation that comes up and the immense benefits you can expect as a result.
Grab your earbuds and listen in below to find out how you can use each circumstance to either serve your life or detract from it.

This week I have a very exciting podcast to share with you!
In this session, I asked five of my coaches, Katrina, Corrine, Stacey, Brenda, and Jody, to share their recent success in making $100,000 and beyond with their coaching business. I also asked them to give their best advice to new coaches and entrepreneurs who are working on reaching the $100k mark.
I’d like to say that I’m incredibly proud of my students and inspired by their success—and I hope you will be too.
This is definitely a podcast to bookmark and revisit for inspiration as you’re growing your life coaching (or any other) business.

Ep #178: Being Coached
Of all the things we can spend our money on, mental health needs to be at the top of our list… Not our car, our house, vacations or entertainment.
Our mental health determines how we feel, what we create, and how we perceive the world around us.
On this episode of The Life Coach School, I want to share my personal coaching experience as a client, as well as some of the biggest takeaways and epiphanies I had with each one of my coaches.
Having a coach changed my life because it helped me get the perspective I can’t get from being inside my own head and my own life. And on this episode, I explain why coaching needs to be your priority if you’re the type of person who wants to grow.

Ep #175: Problems Are Forever
If you’ve been following my podcast this year, you probably already heard that this has been the most amazing year for me, personally and in my business. I’m exactly in the place where I wanted to be ever since I can remember.
I’m at my ideal weight, I don’t buffer with food, I don’t drink, I’m no longer confused in my business, and I’m helping lots of people improve their lives from my white office. And yet, I still have problems… and that is totally normal for anyone at any stage and place in their life.
One of the things I keep reminding my students is that there is no place where you arrive and then you feel whole, happy, and free of problems all of the time.
Problems are forever. The sooner we can embrace that truth, the sooner we can free ourselves from the vicious trap of “some day” and live a fulfilled life today.
On this episode, we explore why your problems will never end, no matter what you achieve in life, and why it’s a good thing. I share what I do with my problems created by my mind in order to be present, how you can turn negative of your life into positives, how to create a clear path to your goals, and much more.

Ep #172: Past Focus Problems: Living in the Past
If you’re in Self Coaching Scholars, you already know that during the month of July, we’re working on changing our past. In our most downloaded episode to date, episode 33, we begin this conversation of making positive change. This week, we go deeper into this topic and look at how you interpret your past (anything that happened up until this moment) and use it to define yourself.
This approach of focusing on your past is highly unproductive as it keeps you stuck in the same place. Listen in as I explain how you can begin defining yourself by your future instead of your past in order to create new results in your life.
Here’s a short message from my book about the past to help you get started:
“It’s time to turn your head around and start focusing on the road ahead. The past is over and gone; you cannot go back there and change it or be younger again. Your past set you up to be the person you are today. Love it for what it did and say goodbye. It’s time to get excited about your future.”

Ep #167: Self-Confidence
I feel like self-confidence is something that everyone wants but not everyone is actively trying to create.
What is it about self-confidence that makes it an attractive feeling, a way of being, and ultimately, an identity trait? Where does self-confidence come from and how can we show others that we’re well-liked?
On this episode of The Life Coach School podcast, I answer these questions and take a deep dive into the topic of having and developing an unshakable confidence in ourselves. I also explain why most of us lack self-confidence and what we can do in order to increase that seemingly elusive character trait.

Ep #165: How to Be a Good Mate
We have many expectations when it comes to our life partners.
We believe that our mates complete us and make us happy. They must also make us attracted, turned on, and in love. And if our mates don’t do it right, we get mad.
Does that sound familiar?
The expectations we put on our mates are simply ridiculous. It is always our job to feel happy, loved, and in love!
On this episode of The Life Coach School, I share 20 ideas on how you can be a better mate to your significant other. These tips will not only make your partner feel infinitely loved but also make you feel like you have the most amazing relationship ever.

Ep #162: Time Management – Procrastination
Time is the MOST important asset that we have in our lives.
Unfortunately, most of us do a poor job at staying focused and managing our time properly. We regularly indulge in procrastination and delay (or completely deny ourselves) getting what we truly want in life.
I strongly believe that you have your dreams for a reason (and it’s not because you’re selfish); that reason being that you’re supposed to evolve to the place where you can materialize your dreams.
If you have a compelling desire and you like your reason why you want something, I believe it is your responsibility to go and get it.
Most people never see their dreams come to life because of procrastination. They put off taking action toward what they want because they feel lazy, overwhelmed, or fearful, or they indulge in another emotion that’s preventing them from creating something. They let their future just happen to them.
In this episode, I share some actionable tools and strategies that you can start using today to defeat procrastination and save you time and precious energy previously used to worry, stress, and mismanage your time.

Ep #160: Lessons Learned from Steve Chandler
“Do it badly; do it slowly; do it fearfully; do it any way you have to, but do it.”
― Steve Chandler, Reinventing Yourself: How to Become the Person You’ve Always Wanted to Be
On this “Lessons Learned” episode, I chose to cover the work of one of my teachers, Steve Chandler – a self-help coach and a bestselling author known as an America’s notoriously unorthodox personal growth guru. Over the course of his career, he has written over 30 self-help books and has helped thousands of people change their lives and level up their businesses.
I’m really excited to share with you some of Steve’s teachings on the importance of coaching, time management, dealing with fear, the power of the language we use, worry, and much more!
I highly encourage you to pick up any of Steve Chandler’s books.

Ep #159: Time Management: Making Time
As we kick off the new month of Self Coaching Scholars on the topic of time management, we begin focusing on the work that will literally change your life. Over the next four episodes, we’re taking a deep dive into deliberately creating and managing time.
Naturally, we have an inborn resistance to deliberate time management.
We believe that spontaneity, and being able to react and not have plans somehow creates a more free life.
This couldn’t be farther from the truth.
The more you plan – the freer you will be. Period.
On this episode, we explore a number of tools and techniques that will help you create more time in our daily lives. From the importance of honoring our commitments to ourselves and saying “no” to multitasking, trying, and distractions, we cover everything you need to know to make time for the things that matter most.
We cover a lot of ground in this podcast. So if you haven’t yet joined the Self Coaching Scholars, make sure you grab a pen and some paper and ready to take some notes!

Ep #157: Thought Creation
Many of us think that we are always at the effect of our lives.
We think that life just happens to us. However, what The Self-Coaching Model teaches us is that we are really at the cause of our lives, whether we recognize it or not.
As we’re working through the first phase of The Model, we talk quite a bit about uncovering what is really going on in our minds – our current thought patterns that create our current feelings that drive our actions.
The second phase of The Model is to then think deliberately and create thoughts on purpose so we can better manage our emotions, our actions, and the results in our lives.
On this episode, I pull back the curtain on how the thought creation process works and share some game-changing tools that will surely help you change your thoughts and, in turn, help you create an extraordinary life.

Ep #154: Apathy
This week, I want to talk about something that I see quite a bit in my clients—apathy. I often notice my clients slipping into this state of indifference without even noticing that they are doing it.
They start with big ideas, great goals, and things they want in their lives. They get really excited about them and work their butts off, and next thing you know, they start thinking, “Screw this… I don’t want to deal with it.” They get apathetic about their vision for a period of time, and when they come out, they are full of regret about stopping the creative process and feel like they are always behind.
This vicious cycle is one of the biggest “dream stealers” on the way to self improvement.
The constant mental state of apathy has become “normal” for so many people around the world. They feel “safe” not having to risk anything or experience failure on the way to their dreams. It’s as if those people have already given up on life…
Join me as we pull back the curtain on this epidemic of apathy that is leading so many people nowhere in their lives. Discover the best course of action to reignite your drive and embark on the most rewarding journey of your life!

Ep #153: Hope is a Problem
Many of my clients believe that hope is a positive emotion and a concept. However, the way they think about hope and use it in their lives actually hurts them.
Hope is deceptive.
Hope doesn’t inspire action.
Being hopeful comes from the place of lack and scarcity.
For most people, hope causes them to wait for things to happen to them rather than going out and creating those things for themselves.
Tune to this week’s episode for a healthy dose of motivation and inspiration to help take your life into your own hands and create the life that you want to live.
After listening to this episode, I hope that you stop hoping and “go get it”!

Ep #151: Self Pity
As we move into the month of February, we’re kicking off a new series of podcasts on the topic of emotion.
In this particular episode, we’re talking about something that most of us have experienced, probably more than once in our lives: self pity.
Self pity is one of the most detrimental emotions that robs so many of us of taking action, as well as of our accomplishments. Sadly, most of the time, we don’t even know that we’re indulging in this self indulgent and useless emotion. It keeps us from being mentally strong.
Join us this week to discover how you can dramatically improve your life by kicking the habit of feeling sorry for yourself and how you can get started on that much-needed journey.

Ep #150: Lessons Learned – The Proposal
Welcome to the 150th episode of The Life Coach School!
Today, I have a special treat for you…
Not too long ago, I received an email from one of my listeners, Jake, telling me about how he and his girlfriend, Whitney, listen to the podcast together and apply everything that they’ve learned. He shared how they were falling in love and developing their relationship while listening to this show and discussing it together.
I think so many of us in our relationships don’t talk about deep subjects – what it’s like to feel our emotions and what’s really going on in our minds. And I think it’s absolutely beautiful and rare to find a couple like Jake and Whitney.
In his email, Jake said he wanted to propose to Whitney and asked for my help. Of course, I agreed right away.
So this episode is the result of our plan to help Jake propose.
I’m not going to tell you much more; you’re just going to have to listen in to find out how it all went down…

Ep #149: Confidence as a Byproduct
Have you ever wondered how successful people built up enough confidence to accomplish great things in their lives?
The reason why I’m always pushing you to evolve and asking you to set and keep commitments to yourself in my podcasts is because of the immense benefits that come with this self-improvement journey. One of the important benefits of this personal evolution is confidence.
On this fourth and final episode of our mini-series of resilience, we dig into exactly how people become confident and the role adversity plays in this process.
Join me this week for some important actionable advice that will surely help you get to the end goal of any of your commitments.

Ep #148: Mind Over Matter
I think it’s amazing that we, as human beings, have the privilege to believe whatever we want. Beliefs that cause pain, joy, or any of the emotions in between.
No one can tell us what to believe about ourselves, what we’re capable of, or what our life is about. We get to decide what we want to believe—it’s the concept of mind over matter.
On this third part of our four-part series on the topic of resilience, we take a look at the types of beliefs that support perseverance and keep us from giving up on our goals.
Join us to find out what makes us stay true to our commitment and discover the questions that will help keep you moving toward your goal until you reach your desired results.

Ep #147: How Quitting Slows You Down
“It’s a slow process, but quitting won’t speed it up.”
There’s only a very small percentage of people in the world that work on making commitments and following through, increasing their confidence, and increasing their resilience in order to create results they want in their life. Most people simply live by default, in their comfort zone, waiting and see what happens to them.
Some people get an idea of something that they want (and believe they can have) but never commit to it. Another thing people do is make commitments, write down goals, and then constantly quit.
On this second part of our conversation about resilience, we’re talking about the habit of quitting something that you’ve previously committed to and how that becomes a dangerous learned skill. We get into the thoughts and feelings involved in the process of quitting and how many of us justify giving up on our commitments.
Don’t miss this episode’s actionable steps that you can start using today to remove quitting as an option from your daily life and achieve your goals!

Ep #146: Compelling Reason
I’ve recently discovered that one of the strongest indicators of success is resilience.
During our conversation with my life coaching students about what might be the difference between being successful and unsuccessful in the coaching business, we talked about three main things – desire, belief, and commitment. And commitment and resilience happen to be really close to each other.
Resilience is the effect of a compelling reason to complete something, and commitment is the start to that compelling reason.
Today, we delve into the topic of commitment and what it takes to make it so solid that your success is inevitable. Listen in to discover what commitment and telling yourself “no” can do for your success and how a compelling reason can help you gather all the strength you need on the way to your commitment.

Ep #145: When You’ve Been Let Down
I’m sure at some point in our lives we’ve all felt let down by someone else.
When we feel let down, more often than not, we develop opinions, stories, and pain around whatever information we may have without having the full story. Many times, this causes unnecessary hurt and anger, and even ruins important relationships that we’ve worked so hard to build.
On this episode, I pull back the curtain on why so many of us stick to our guns (so we can always be “right”), instead of being able to have adult discussions about what really is going on when we feel let down.
Join me as I explain how we can create forward movement and continue our evolution into a better version of ourselves when these things happen, as well as how we can make light of these awkward happenings and stay in the place where we can find our own shortcomings.
So get your earbuds in and turn up the volume! You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn about the true power of being let down and how you can use it to create new opportunities for growth.

Ep #141: Study Yourself
So many of us have accepted a life that is not to our liking – a life that includes too many things that cause us an enormous amount of trouble that we don’t know how to manage. This causes us to live in a reactive mode, feeling like we’re at the mercy of our own lives.
I’ve been getting a lot of feedback from my podcast listeners and students about what they’ve learned from me. And one of the things that I’ve noticed is that people understand what it means to consume the concepts that I teach, but they are not great at applying and practicing them.
In this episode, I would like to fill in that gap between the knowledge of self-help topics that many of us have and the practice that’s required to apply it to achieve the end product of the life that we ultimately want.
One of the things that I’ve been teaching to my students extensively lately is the art of living deliberately. What that requires is deciding how we want to live our lives and then practicing living our lives that way.
There are only a few components that go into the study of ourselves and how we interact with our lives. And if we make it a consistent practice to study, plan, prepare, and show up in the world how we want to show up and be the way we want to be, then we can live a life that is much closer to the ideal that we have in our minds.
Tune into this episode to find out how you can begin this much-needed journey of studying yourself.

Ep #140: Lessons Learned from Napoleon Hill
“The starting point of all achievement is DESIRE. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small fire makes a small amount of heat.”
― Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich
It is time again for another “Lessons from” show about one of the teachers who had a great impact on my life and teachings of my own.
Today, we’re taking a look at the work of Napoleon Hill, an American author of personal-success literature who has written one of the greatest success books of all times – Think and Grow Rich.
Tune in as we take a deep dive into Napoleon’s Think and Grow Rich by looking at some of the best ideas and quotes from the book and discuss those concepts in detail.
This introduction to Napoleon Hill’s work is full of incredible wisdom on the topics of success and achievement and is sure to help you take full possession of your mind.

Ep #138: Feeling On Purpose
During our recent Master Coach retreat, we talked a lot about buffering, eliminating buffering from our reality, and living a buffer-free life. That got me thinking about another powerful concept that I would like to share with you this week…
For many of you, an un-buffered life will feel like you can’t go on.
It will feel intolerable, boring, make you angry, or even terrify you. And unless you have the ability to manage your emotional life, you will go right back to buffering.
On this episode of The Life Coach School Podcast, we’re talking about learning to feel all of our emotions on purpose and being able to manage them. Join us for an in-depth step-by-step guide on how you can learn to feel on purpose, live the life you deserve, and create anything you want in your life.

Ep #137: The Case for Pain
Something that I’ve been talking a lot about with my Stop Overeating and Stop Overdrinking clients lately is pain and how we overindulge in things that give us artificial pleasure in order to avoid it.
Avoiding pain is normal.
It’s something that’s hardwired into us since birth in order to keep us alive.
However, in our modern society, avoiding pain hurts us much more than it helps us. It creates more pain and suffering in our lives. It even denies us the experience of a fully alive human being.
In this episode, I make a case for pain: why you can’t afford to not embrace the pain of being human and why you must strive to move toward the pain and away from pleasure to live a fulfilling life.

Ep #136: Thought Loops
One of the things that I’ve been working on recently is the concept of what I call “thought loops.” Essentially, a thought loop is a thought error that tends to happen in our brain and is reminiscent of the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder but is something that we can easily control.
In this episode, we take a deep dive into what these errors are, how they present themselves in our lives, and how we can overcome them. I also explain how these compulsive and irrational thought loops have shown up (and are still showing up) in my life.
Get your earbuds and listen in as I give you some tools that you can start using today to surmount the compulsive and irrational thinking that often drains us of our energy and redirect this energy to the things that truly matter in life.

Ep #135: Self Improvement: Why Growing Matters
Along the theme of the past few podcasts about evolving and going after the hard things in life, I’m answering a few important questions that are sure to sell you on this concept:
Why does growing matter?
Why bother with the hard things in life like stopping overdrinking or overeating?
Why bother starting and growing a business or being more kind to people?
In this important episode, we take a look at the benefits of self improvement and how it can increase our capacity for well being. We explore Maslow’s theory of self actualization and how ignoring our desire for making a contribution to the consciousness of the planet can hurt or even kill us.
Listen in to find out how you can begin facilitating true self improvement that will come from an internal place and evolve you in a cognitive and emotional way.

Ep #134: Hedonism
As I’ve mentioned in the previous episode, lately, I’ve been focusing on the question of why we should practice and value self control, self discipline, willpower, and aim to achieve our dreams.
Why does achieving your dreams matter?
That question is extremely important because if we don’t achieve our dreams, what’s the alternative?
In this episode, we continue our exploration of the pursuit of well being and how hedonism, or constantly seeking false pleasures, prevents us from achieving it. I explain the importance of delaying gratification and how it can lead to tremendous personal growth and increased effort threshold.
Listen in to discover the steps that you need to take to achieve your ultimate level of well being and to make sure that your pursuit of “the prize” is filled with joy, exhilaration, and anticipation.

Ep #133: Well-Being vs Pleasure
Over the past couple of episodes, I’ve been focusing on the idea of why we should bother with doing all of this hard work – feeling negative emotions and pursuing the life free of “yummy,” false pleasures. And today, we continue this with this important topic and dig into how well-being stacks up against pleasure.
You might want to substitute the word “happiness” instead of “well-being” here if that word resonates with you more. However, for me “well-being” is a lot more in line with what I’m aiming for in my life.
Join us as we explore the difference between cultivating well-being and constantly living in the realm of false pleasures, and how understanding that distinction can help you find your path to an authentic life that humans were born to lead.
So get your earbuds in, click “play,” and get ready to get transformed! Believe me… you won’t want to miss this important episode.

Ep #132: Stop Buffering
I talk a lot about the idea of buffering and how it is one of those things that we do in order to not fully experience our lives. And the reason why we don’t want to face the truth of our lives is because we don’t want to experience any type of negative emotion.
We feel entitled to feel happiness and pleasure all of the time.
Here’s a little secret: Constantly feeling pleasure and happiness is not natural.
Part of the reason for this is because we’re constantly bombarded with ways to feel pleasure: “You should go eat something. You should go buy something. You should go drink something. You should go pay for something that will bring your pleasure.”
So what are we to do in our society of easily obtainable pleasure in order to live a truly authentic and fulfilling life?
Join us on this episode and we dig into this idea of buffering and how we can stop using external things to change how we feel emotionally.

Ep #127: Appropriate Discomfort
“Nothing can be more functional than an internal warning system among people. And nothing can be more dysfunctional than to ignore the warning or take the edge off.”
– Marianne Williamson
I recently learned about a new concept from Marianne Williamson’s book, Tears to Triumph. This concept made me scream with delight when I discovered it, and I’m really excited to share it with you!
Today, most of us have a sense of entitlement to inappropriate pleasure and comfort in our lives.
On this episode, we’re digging into the topic of us being inappropriately comfortable in our current society and how appropriate discomfort can help us grow as human beings.
Join us we go through the best quotes from Tears to Triumph and uncover how we can beat this epidemic of our media-driven society that wants to dull our emotional pain and appropriate discomfort that drives our growth.

Ep #124: Life Coaching Advanced Skills
In the last episode, we covered all of the basic tools we teach at The Life Coach School. Today, we’re going way deeper and take a look at the advanced skills that our students learn.
One of the biggest mistakes my students make is that they expect to have a skill of a master just because they learned a tool.
An old-school lesson that I have to teach pretty regularly is that in the beginning of using any tool, you’ll be slow and will make a lot of mistakes; and if you try to rush through it, you’ll create really sloppy work. You need to practice using those tools until they become second nature.
Before you jump into this episode I want you to understand the difference between learning a tool and developing a skill with that tool. I can’t stress enough the importance of repeatedly practicing using tools we discussed in the last episode until you’re ready to move on to the advanced concepts laid out in this episode. With that said, I’m really excited to dive deep into these concepts that can change your life!

Ep #123: Life Coaching Tools Review
As I was preparing for our upcoming advanced life coach training, I realized that in order to understand the basics of life coaching, you have to understand the tools and know how to use them. This is similar to a beginner carpenter who absolutely must get familiar with and understand how to use all of the tools in his tool belt in order to become good at his craft.
In my initial trainings, introducing people to life coaching tools is one of the most gratifying things I can do, because trying to live your life without tools, just as trying to build a house without tools, is nearly impossible.
Many of us are not taught any cognitive or emotional tools in our lifetimes. We simply don’t have a tool belt that helps us manage how we feel, how we think, and therefore what we do.
On this episode, I introduce and talk about the tools that we use at The Life Coach School. When you learn these tools and start applying them, your life will inevitably change and you will be able to obtain increased awareness and empowerment.
No matter if you’re a coach and you’ve been with The Life Coach School since episode 1 (this will be a great review for you) or if you haven’t been introduced to our tools yet, you won’t want to miss this episode!
Make sure to tune in next week for the detailed explanation of the advanced skills I teach at The Life Coach School.

Ep #116: Stop Overdrinking Part 1
Since I’ve launched The Life Coach School podcast, I’ve had an overwhelming amount of requests for an episode on the topic of stopping overdrinking. This week, I’m really excited to invite you along on a journey to help you get your drinking under control.
In this first part of the 3-part mini-series on how to stop overdrinking, I’m sharing my backstory and why I decided to put this resource together for you. Then, we move into why we drink, why we like alcohol, why we have it in our lives, why it’s important to us, and how it affects our brain. If you’re looking to either cut back on your alcohol consumption or lose your desire to drink altogether, this episode is for you!
Make sure to tune into part two of this series next week, where we’ll be talking about why some of us want to cut back and reduce our drinking, and why, for some of us, it’s so challenging.

Ep #112: Post-Traumatic Growth
One of the things that I noticed when working with clients with post-traumatic stress is that they have a really difficult time getting past it. Post-traumatic stress is a type of a reaction that happens after a certain kind of trauma, which is totally normal. However, so many of my clients come to me 10, or even 20, years later, still suffering from it.
On this episode of The Life Coach School, we tackle the topic that surrounds personal growth after serious trauma: post-traumatic growth. I wanted to do this episode in honor of those folks who have gone through events that have been incredibly painful and difficult; and at the same time, for those who haven’t experienced great trauma but want to use the techniques we discuss here to help them grow.
Join us for an exploration of the incredible possibilities that can open up for those willing to do the work and become the hero of their story. Discover how you can set off on your post-traumatic journey and develop a deeper relationship with yourself and become a new, better, and stronger version of yourself.

Ep #111: Making Money
If you’ve been listening to The Life Coach School podcast for a while, you probably already know that I love money. I openly talk about it and often freak people out.
I strongly believe that when you have a lot of money, you can do so many things, including making a positive impact on the world and helping others end their suffering.
On this episode, we cover the topic of making money, as well as the importance of adopting a new mindset conducive to increasing your earnings. Tune in as I share my personal story and background that helped me form my abundance mindset and explain how you too can exceed what you thought was “normal” for you in terms of how much you can earn. Ep #110: Lessons Learned from Joe Dispenza
“We can’t create a new future while we’re living in our past. It’s simply impossible.”
― Joe Dispenza, You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter
Welcome to episode 110! It is time again for another “Lessons from” episode where I share one of my teachers who had a great impact on my life and the teachings of my own. And today, we’re looking into the teachings of Joe Dispenza.
I’m not sure how it took me so long to discover Joe Dispenza, but I’m really glad that I did. His work is very much in line with what I teach and I am extremely excited to share them with all of you!

Ep #109: Pre-Frontal Power
Today, we’re talking about the most evolved part of us, as humans, and what separates us from animals – the prefrontal cortex. It is the part of our brain responsible for personality expression, decision making, moderating social behavior, and executive function. The prefrontal cortex is what allows us to think about thinking, and that’s what we’re focusing on today.
Tune in as we take a look at the two main regions of our brain responsible for our active and passive thinking and dig into how they work to better understand why we do what we do in our everyday lives.
This information is crucial to understanding how we can utilize both parts of our brain to our advantage in order to achieve the results that we want in our lives. So get comfortable, turn up the volume, grab a pen and some paper, and get ready to take some notes! You won’t want to miss this important episode.

Ep #108: Gratitude Ahead of Time
The concept that I have been working with lately quite a bit is one of being able to feel grateful for something that you believe you are going to have in your future. It’s the idea that you visualize your future and what you want to have in your life and then you visualize how you would feel as if you already had it.
Join us as I explain the immense benefits of gratitude ahead of time and lay out the step-by-step process that you can start using today to create whatever you desire in your life.
I can’t express how excited I am to share this information with you! If you practice this process on a regular basis, I am confident that you’ll be able to have all of the answers before you actually need them. That will allow you to eliminate worry, access a whole another level of wisdom, and preemptively get rid of all of the obstacles you might have on the way to your dreams and desires.

Ep #107: When Something Sucks
Originally, this episode was supposed to be on the topic of visualization. However, the past week completely rocked my world and I’ve been dealing with what I call “a sucker punch to the gut” – something that happens to the best of us.
In case you’re wondering, “a sucker punch to the gut” can be something like a shocking diagnosis or a piece of news or a circumstance that simply takes your breath away when you find out about it.
For me, this caused me to feel a tremendous amount of shame – the feeling that comes from the thought that there’s something wrong with me.
Regardless of the reason why you feel the way that you do, I would like to offer a solution that you could regularly come back to if you happen to get sucker punched or something seems to really suck in your life. Listen in for my step-by-step process to help get you out of that feeling that everything is so horrible.
Don’t miss this opportunity to find out how you can actively do something instead of feeling powerless and grow as a human being, using those terrible events to make your life better!

Ep #106: Knowing vs Not Knowing
One of the main issues that I experience with my clients and students is their knee-jerk reaction to “I don’t know.”
One of the rules that I have with everyone that I work with is that when I ask a question about their life or where they want to go in their future, they can’t respond with “I don’t know.” They have to come up with an answer.
The reason why I insist that they always have an answer to my question is because I don’t want them to deny their own wisdom, and miss out on being conscious and being able to look inside themselves when they indulge in the thought of “I don’t know what to do.”
On this episode of The Life Coach School podcast, we take a look at what it means, as well as what it feels like, to truly know something. We also break down what we can do in order to make the process of looking into the unknown easier.
Join us to discover how you can stop living in the place of confusion and move towards more knowing and more willingness to go into the unknown, letting go of the “I don’t know” excuse we have all been guilty of.

Ep #105: Weight Loss – Desire
One of the most important things that has come out of my work with myself and my clients in the Stop Overeating Masterclass is the understanding of the difference between stopping over eating and stopping desiring to overeat.
A lot of people who don’t overeat simply don’t think food is that big of a deal. On the other hand, people who have an issue with overeating have an incredibly strong desire for more food than our body requires. Understanding and controlling that desire makes all the difference in the world in the weight loss process.
On this episode of The Life Coach School, we take a deep dive into the reasons why certain people have a stronger desire to eat way too much and look at wat we can do to better control it. Listen in to this in-depth exploration of desire to overeat (and overindulge in just about anything) and discover the strategies for eliminating it.

Ep #104: Weight Loss – Discomfort
If you’re an emotional overeater, you’re probably very familiar with the desire to never feel discomfort. We, as emotional overeaters, always want to get our comfort and we always want to get it from food.
One of the things that I find very interesting is that many people truly want to lose weight, but at the same time, they want to accommodate their need for comfort. There are certain diets out there that have programmed us to believe that we can go through that process comfortably. Unfortunately, there is nothing about weight loss that is comfortable.
Join us as we dig into the logic behind wanting to avoid discomfort and why it will not serve you in losing weight and keeping it off. Tune in to discover how you can build a better relationship with yourself and dissolve the need for escape through overeating. I also wrap up the episode with the 10 things you must know to help you stop overeating.

Ep #103: The Process of Change
A few episodes ago, we started talking about the process of making changes in our lives. Today, we continue this conversation about wanting to change from one model to another and look at this process in a more simplified way.
Listen in as I explain why making changes in our lives is so difficult for most of us and lay out the step-by-step process that you can use to transition from the old models to new ones. We also get into how to bridge the gap between the two models and what it takes to make the new model unconscious.
Don’t miss this important episode that will surely help you make the process of change easier, as well as empower you to create your life deliberately.

Ep #101: Awareness – Watching Models
Welcome to the episode 101! Based on my recent experience with our in-person training group, I decided that for the next 10 sessions I’m going to teach all of you at a really high level. So if you just found this podcast and you’re jumping into this episode, please go back to the beginning and listen to the first 100 episodes first, and learn the basic concepts we’ve talked about previously.
One of the concepts we have had trouble teaching and “selling” students in our coaching group, is the idea that consciousness is treatment…Watching and doing models in and of itself is treatment. In other words, it literally changes you. By observing your own mind and becoming more conscious, you evolve.
On this episode, of The Life Coach School, we’re talking about the incredible power of increasing our consciousness by watching models. Join us to learn about the five phases of consciousness and how you can increase it to the level most people will never get to. Discover how you can become an observer and gain a true understanding of why you feel the way that you do and why you’re thinking what you’re thinking.

Ep #99: Acceptance Requires Effort
“Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it.”
– Eckhart Tolle
I think, a lot of times when we think of acceptance, we think of giving up effort. A lot of us associate it with accepting defeat. However, if you truly work on acceptance, you’ll realize that it requires a tremendous amount of effort.
On this episode of The Life Coach Shcool, we take a look at the power of fully accepting our past and our present. We dive into what it really means to accept the things we have no ability to change and the incredible results you can expect in your life once you make this process a daily practice. Join us to discover how using the techniques laid out in this episode, you can create and extraordinary life and achieve anything you put your mind to.
Remember, everything you have the power to imagine, you have the power to create in your life. And the minute you genuinely accept it, it will be as good as done.

Ep #97: Balancing Emotion
One of the themes that has come up quite a bit with my students who are trying to lose weight is the complete avoidance of negative emotion. Many of them believe that we are supposed to feel only positive emotions and be in a constant state of happiness and bliss.
Unfortunately, life doesn’t work that way….
In order for us to feel great, positive emotions, we need to be able to contrast them with the negative ones; and when we make a choice to not resist, react or avoid any emotions, on the other side of it, we can achieve real freedom and strength. Listen in to discover how you can learn to balance your emotions and how to get better at feeling every emotion, becoming stronger in the process.

Ep #96: What Feels Good
Recently on the Life Coach School Podcast, we’ve been talking a lot about feelings, mainly because of what I’m doing in our Stop Overeating Masterclass and how immersed I am in the topic on a daily basis. In that intense six-month daily program, we are currently focusing on the reason why we overeat, which happens to be our feelings. And by now, you surely remember that feelings drive our actions as well as inaction.
Since one of the main things that motivates us is feeling good, one of the questions that came up in the Stop Overeating Masterclass community was, “What does feel good?” In this episode, we dive into the reasons why familiarity feels good and why making changes doesn’t. Listen in to discover the main factors that determine whether you succeed in reaching your goals and my strategy for feeling good during the process of making positive changes.

Ep #95: What Prevents Joy
“Pleasure is always derived from something outside you, whereas joy arises from within.”
― Eckhart Tolle
A lot of us have been sold the idea that joy should be as easy as pleasure and that it should be something we can get a quick “hit” of. Unfortunately, this can’t be farther from the truth.
Joy is not external and can only come from within us. It is a constant practice that comes from a relationship with ourselves and our minds.
On this episode, we explore the true sources of joy and why seeking pleasure outside of ourselves often happens to be at the expense of joy.

Ep #92: How to Feel
Yes, folks… on this episode of The Life Coach School, we’re talking about how to feel. Although we all think that feeling feelings is a no-brainer, most of us don’t know how to actually experience our feelings.
Today, we take a look at why do many of don’t know how to feel our feelings and resist them on regular basis.

Listen in as we take a deep dive into how to literally experience emotions. You won’t want to miss this step-by-step approach to truly feeling your feelings.

Ep #90: Learned from Geneen Roth
“You are not a mistake. You are not a problem to be solved. But you won’t discover this until you are willing to stop banging your head against the wall of shaming and caging and fearing yourself”
― Geneen Roth, Women, Food and God: An Unexpected Path to Almost Everything
It is time again for another “Lessons from” episode where I share one of my teachers who had a great impact on my life and teachings of my own.
Today’s teacher, Geneen Roth, has an amazing message for those who emotionally overeat and struggle with weight issues. Geneen, in my opinion, is the one of the best writers on the planet.
On our 90th episode of The Life Coach School Podcast, you’ll hear about Geneen’s loving message of kindness to ourselves and experience some of her best quotes and philosophies. Tune in to discover her incredible way of bringing us inside of our bodies to help us understand and pay attention to what’s going on rather than trying to dull it with food and escaping it by avoiding it.

Ep #89: Diets
As many of you probably already know, I’ve been teaching a course called Stop Overeating Masterclass. One of the themes that came up a lot when I was selling the course and was talking to people who were interested in it, as well as the current students, was the topic of vilification of diets. Many people voiced their concern about going on a diet and some simply did not wish to go on one.
Today, we take a deep dive into the idea of diets, why we often make ourselves the victim and a diet the villain, and whether that is useful or helpful for us. Join us as we analyze the common reasons why people fail on diets and what we can do in order to find a diet that will work for us and stick to it.

Ep #88: So What?
What you tell your brain is important directs what it looks for and focuses on, causing it to disregard everything else. That is a function of the brain that safeguards itself from focusing on everything at once and getting completely exhausted.
Unfortunately, most of us don’t take the time to consciously tell our brain what is important and what to look for. So it simply goes on autopilot and looks for evidence to prove the default belief systems (probably from somewhere in your childhood) true.
One of the things that I teach new coaches is when a client gives them a thought, a great response to it is: “So what?” or “What are you making that mean?” This inquiry works well with both facts and opinions.
On this episode, we take a deep dive into the great tool, “So what?” and how it can help you tell yourself the story that will serve you. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn to manage your mind and give yourself the biggest gift in your life – choosing your story.

Ep #87: Self Discipline
When we think about discipline, some think about disciplining themselves and others think about disciplining their children. Most people don’t have a problem disciplining their kids, but, on the other hand, they have quite a difficult time disciplining themselves because they believe that discipline gives them less freedom. They couldn’t be further from the truth.
On this episode of The Life Coach School, we take a look at the importance of discipline in different aspects of our lives and how by practicing it, we can achieve freedom. Tune in for a healthy dose of motivation as well as some game-changing tips to start building your willpower and to achieve the freedom in your life that you deserve. Ep #85: Constraint
A year ago, I took an amazing class called “9o-Day Year” from a coach Todd Herman. As a coach, what Todd does is he comes in and subtracts things from our lives in order to help reduce overwhelm that many people experience on regular basis. One of the main concepts taught in the class was the idea of constraint or, in other words, a limitation or restriction put on yourself that simplifies your life.
Joins us as I explain why it’s so important for us to put constraints on most aspects of our lives and the incredible changes you can experience as a result. Listen in to discover how limiting your options can help positively impact your life, improve your self-esteem and make you feel better about yourself.

Ep #83: Model Mistakes
As you may already know, I just recently finished our in-person coach training. One of the things that came as a surprise for me during the training was that a lot of the people who have been using The Self-Coaching Model have been making a lot of mistakes. And these mistakes seem to have been affecting their ability to make progress in their self-development.
Today, for those who haven’t attended our in-person training, I decided to address the common mistakes people make when applying The Model (download the worksheet). Listen in as we review that amazing system for analyzing your thoughts and take a look how to properly apply it to any situation in your life. Believe me…you won’t want to miss out on this opportunity and discover how The Model can provide you with brilliant insight into what’s going on with you and your mind, and help you obtain a much more intimate relationship with yourself!

Ep #74: Indulgent Emotions
In previous episodes, we’ve talked about indulgent emotions quite a bit, but I believe that it’s always good to have a refresher for most important topics such as this one. Even my most masterful coaches, at times, have a hard time remembering that often we like to indulge in emotions that don’t serve us.

Ep #71: Weight Loss and Hunger
I am a firm believer that the reason why any of us is overweight is because we eat more than our body requires for fuel. Most of us often eat when we’re not hungry, and that is the main problem that causes any of us to overeat and in turn become overweight.
On this episode of The Life Coach School podcast, we’re taking a look at two aspects of weight loss and hunger – the math (eat less and exercise more) and why we’re not doing what we know is the right thing to do. We explore what’s going on in our bodies when we’re physically hungry and when we’re physically full as well what’s happening in our minds when we want to eat food to satisfy something that has nothing to do with our physical bodies. Listen in as I explain how you can begin your journey to a healthy body and maintain it for the rest of your life!

Ep #36: Blame vs. Responsibility
Today, we’re looking into an extremely important topic – the difference between blame and responsibility. As we already established in a number of previous shows, all feelings are always self-generated. Coming back to the topic of emotional childhood and emotional adulthood, many of us believe that our feelings are caused by other people. When we blame someone else for how we feel, we are not taking responsibility for our own feelings and emotions. This process can feel extremely disempowering and even cause us agony and suffering.
Join us to learn why you should stop giving other people credit for your emotional life and take that power back. Discover how you can completely take your life into your own hands by taking responsibility for your thoughts and your choices.

Ep #25: Emotional Adulthood
This week, I am talking to you about a concept that has developed for me over the years of life coaching and teaching: emotional childhood and emotional adulthood. The idea behind this concept is that we are responsible for how we feel in every moment. Emotional childhood is when we choose not to take this responsibility. One of the most disempowering things we can do is to keep ourselves in this place of emotional childhood and blame. Taking responsibility for our emotions shows true emotional maturity.
Listen in to find out how taking responsibility over your emotions and feelings will help you be in control of your happiness while growing as a person. Don’t miss this episode full of valuable advice on how you can obtain complete power over your whole life.
